Today, August 26th is National Dog Day! Well you know we deserve it. Who can be more loyal than a dog?
Here is a story I highly recommend: Why Dogs are Better Than Cats. OK, cats can be good companions too.
Here are some important things to learn from dogs:
- Handle stressful situations like a dog. If you can’t eat or play with it, just pee on it.
- The best therapist has fur and four legs.
- If my dog doesn’t like you, good chance I won’t either.
- Whoever said you can’t buy happiness, never had a puppy.
- Dogs can empty your wallet, but fill your heart.
- Dogs are not spoiled, they are just great people trainers.
- My humans did not pick me, I chose them.
- No matter how bad a day you’ve had, I’ll make you feel better.
- Just because you’ve never rolled in mud or poop doesn’t mean it’s not fun.
- Dogs express more in 30 seconds of tail wagging than humans can with 30 minutes of tongue wagging.
- My fur IS acceptable decor for any floor.
- Take a dog to see a young child, they smile, take a dog to a school, students smile, take a dog to see a senior citizen, they smile. See a trend?
- I will never cheat on you…unless someone else has a treat for me. But I always return to MY humans.
- You can share your deepest secrets with me and I’ll never tell.
- A dog in the lap is better than Prozac in your body.
- No matter your financial situation, a dog makes you rich.
When I’m out in public with my humans, people will stop and comment: “What a good looking fellow”. Warren always respond, “Thank you, do you like my dog too?”. I just smile and wag my tail. I know he loves his corny dad joke. And there is no doubt they are talking about me!
If you have a favorite photo of your fur baby, please share on our Facebook Page.
Until next time, Happy Dog Day from Shep.
