- The air filtration system in your cabin will shrink your clothes. What fits before the cruise will not by the end of your cruise.
- If it’s winter, you go someplace warm. No chance to build a snowman.
- In the dinning room they all but force you to eat as many entrees and desserts as are on the menu.
- You go to sleep and when you wake up, you’re in another country.
- Strange white animals show up in your cabin every evening.
- We keep meeting people on cruises that want to stay in touch with us for years. Some even suggest getting together on future cruises.
- There are no cell towers on the ocean.
- Balcony rooms force you to listen to the sounds of the ocean.
- Dolphins often follow your ship, like stalkers.
- Crew members come into your room. We know because each day after leaving our cabin, the bed was made, fresh towels were out and the room straightened up.
- Those photographers are everywhere taking photos of us having fun.
- The elevators only go up and down. They should have ones that go from front to back. This often causes us to get exercise by walking.
- It was a horrible experience when we took grandchildren. Non stop ice cream was available, swimming, camps, towel animal class. Now they think they should go with us all the time.
- Shows, clubs, bars and casino. What is this, a floating Las Vegas?
- You take another cruise on a ship you sailed previously and the staff remembers your name. Facial recognition conspiracy????
- Your spouse/partner may have unexplained feelings of romance. Some people report that cruising contributes to pregnancies!
- Staff waiting on you all the time.
- If you have a stop in Mexico, the Mexican food is not like Taco Bell.
- AND THE WORST THING ABOUT A CRUISE…Just when you realize you’re having the time of your life, they make you leave.
And while we’re in this “tongue in cheek” mode, some of the wildest things heard on a cruise:
- Is the water in the toilet salt water (Who would check this)?
- Does the crew sleep on board?
- I’ve booked an outside cabin, will I get wet if it rains?
- Why does everyone speak Spanish in Cozumel, Mexico?
- What do they do with the ice carvings after they melt?
- Guest looking at the display of photos taken by ship photographers, “How will I know which are mine?”
- The midnight buffet is not seen on most cruises anymore, but people did ask “What time is the midnight buffet?”.
- Do the stairs go up or down?
- I booked an inside cabin, but there is no window to be able to see the ocean.
- Is the casino free?
