Yesterday was something my humans call 4th of July. There was a war going on outside our house. I saw rockets red glare and heard bombs bursting in the air.
But I stood my ground…under the bed. I figured this was the best place to be if some of those boom booms decided to come into the house. I would be ready to pounce on them in a moment’s notice. Or at least see if they had any treats with them.
This reminds me of that other near invasion seven months ago. I think they called that, New Year’s Eve. I’m Shep, protecting my humans one fireworks display at a time.
Those of you who have pets know that they have a hard time with the celebrating we humans like to do on these special occasions. We hope you provide the love and comfort they need to get through the trauma they experience.
Shep is a good dog who like my dog, Gretel wants to protect his owners all the time! Wish I could protect her from the boom-booms. She is terribly afraid and it makes me so sad!
So true Jeanette. I hope our pets realize that we’re there for them when the noise scares them. Good journeys on your upcoming trip. I look forward to our interview about your summer adventures.
